The American Lebanese Medical Association has been conducting a medication drive for the past few months to provide much needed relief to the Lebanese people. On August 4, 2020, after the Beirut Port explosion, the situation became much worst and aid became a total emergency.
After much deliberation, we decided to collaborate with the Middle Eastern Pharmacy Association (MEPHA) to benefit the relief efforts. We created a go fund me page and raised over $20,000 to purchase thousands of various medications, diapers, formula, surgical instruments, and PPE items.
Our first shipment was directed to Rafiq Hariri University Hospital, who has been in dire need of supplies since they have absorbed most of the Covid-19 patients, as well as explosion victims. In the next weeks, our efforts will concentrate on providing immediate relief of pharmaceuticals and supplies to smaller organizations that provide aid to their immediate patients and communities.
ALMA is also concentrating on helping needy Medical and Pharmacy students by providing Financial aid to 28 students in 2020.
Please support ALMA to provide aid for our brothers and sisters in Lebanon.
