ALMA LA Chapter Donates $5,000.00 to the Tel Chiha Hospital fund His Excellency Bishop Issam John Darwish, bishop of Furzol, Zahle and the Bekaa, is visiting California in an effort to help raise some funds for the Tel Chiha hospital in caza Zahle in the Bekaa valley. Bishop Darwish is the organizer and the engine behind the Stream Of Hope Mission. www.streamofhopemission.org.
One of the missions of the Stream Of Hope is reaching excellence in medical services so Tel Chiha hospital would be the hospital of choice in the region. Some of the ALMA board members in Los Angeles, met Bishop Darwish and the CEO of the of the Chiha Hospital, Mrs Marysa Mehanna, on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Zahle Restaurant in Los Angeles. His Excellency and the CEO spoke about the Tel Chiha hospital plans for the future. The Tel Chiha hospital was built in 1906 and it has been servicing the community of the Bekaa every since. Both, Bishop Darwich and Mrs. Marysa Mehanna, explained to the crowd at Zahle restaurant the needs and the challenges of the hospital for the upcoming years.
It gives us a great pleasure and a great honor that ALMA, Los Angeles chapter was able donate a check for five thousands dollars toward the improvement of the Tel Chiha Hospital. Doctors Nabil Feghali, Jason Boutros and Joseph Hasrouni were present at the event.
